International Music Camp July 29-Aug.1 2006 - Sixteen New Horizons Band members attended this year's Band Camp at the International Peace Gardens. It was an awesome experience making new friends from all across Canada and the USA, and having the privilege of playing in a crackerjack ninety-five piece concert band under the superb direction of Wendy Grasdahl from Edmonton. The contagious energy from so many very talented musicians kept us going for three grueling days before the spectacular Finale Concert on Tuesday evening. Our program selections were: La Morisque, Air for Band, Porgy and Bess, Tango for Band and The Standard of St. George. Some of us also took part in a Recital on Monday evening. In addition, there were non-stop practices, sessionals, seminars and private lessons and a few extra curricular activities. We learned so much and carried away many precious memories.
